Bachmann Constituent Fred Comb's experience with Bachmann

Last year, Fred Comb, who is a constituent of Michele Bachmann's had an appointment for a meeting with her on the day of the 2004 OutFront Rally. He was on a skiing vacation with his son, and called Bachmann's office the day before the meeting to confirm that the meeting was on. He did not want to fly back early with his son, if there was going to be no meeting. At that time, Bachmann's office told him the meeting was still on. So Fred and his son cut short their vacation in order to meet with Senator Bachmann. The following morning, someone from Bachmann's office left a message on Fred's voice mail stating that Bachmann had an emergency outside the building and would not be able to make the meeting. Other constituents of Bachmann reported to Fred that she was seen alone in her office at the meeting time.

This year Fred was part of the group of constituents meeting with Bachmann. This was his account:

My Senator is Michele Bachmann (lucky me) and she actually met constituents today... I sat next to her in the meeting and when it was my turn to speak, I introduced myself and extended my hand, as I always do. To anyone! I held my hand out for what seemed like eternity and I watched her hands rise from her lap as she turned them palm side up, looked at them, and put them back in her lap. My hand still extended to force a response, she said, "my husband has pneumonia and I don't want to catch anything". Yeah right. She did not allow anyone from outside her district in the room except for two EX-GAYS who were there to protect her and defend her positions. I bet she thinks I'M the ass for holding my hand out for so long!!!

Re: the non-handshake.
I'm the guy on the other end. . .
My hand was not dirty. In fact, I had just eaten lunch and washed my hands after lunch. I even had a shower that morning just like I do every day. I shaved and brushed my teeth too. I was dressed in casual business attire in a typical fashion that one would commonly expect for a meeting with a Senator. I don't have a contagious disease or any other disease for that matter. Actually, I have high cholesterol, is that a disease? There were no questionable motives. . . not on my part anyway. However, an easy argument could be made for the Senators motives.

In short, Michele Bachmann was RUDE, and not only that it was and is my opinion she LIED to me. She said, "My husband has pneumonia and I don’t want to catch anything." If that’s true and she refused to shake my hand because she didn’t want to "catch anything", then you tell me, why did she shake other hands and hug others moments after the meeting?

These are the types of stories that describe Michele Bachmann's character.
